PLEASE NOTE: If you purchase any bonsai on this page, you will receive the bonsai in the photo, not a look-alike. Dwarf Japanese Junipers will do well indoors and flourish outdoors. If kept indoors, they MUST get at least a few hours a day of DIRECT sunlight, and MUST be kept in a cooler than room temperature location in winter. Our "Tip of The Week" #19 lists a few ways to do this. My first bonsai was a Dwarf Japanese Juniper. Since 1976, I have sold tens of thousands of bonsai. I would estimate that half or more of these have been Dwarf Japanese Juniper. Considering that I have a list of nearly 200 cultivars that I have offered for sale over the years, that is a startling amount. The reason is that the Dwarf Japanese Juniper looks like most peoples idea of what a bonsai is. In addition, It is strong, relatively pest free, easy to care for, readily available, and adapts to a wide variety of conditions. For information on winter requirements, see "Tip of The Week" # 17, 18, & 19.
