The Mimosa, or "Silk Tree (Albizia Julibrissin) is a rapidly growing, deciduous
tree which is native to a temperate climate. In nature, it can
reach a height of 40 feet tall with a 50-foot spread.
It produces beautiful pink plume-like flowers in summer, and has feathery
compound-leaf foliage that folds up at night. It likes full sun
but will put up with some shade, especially later in the day.
Use a bonsai soil with good drainage. The leaves tatter easily,
so try to give it protection from the wind.
