I was recently contacted by Sierra Natural Science, a manufacturer of organic pesticides, fungicides and nutrients regarding carrying a line of their products. I get requests of this type a few times a month, and after checking out the products I rarely add them. The person who contacted me was confident enough about their products that he sent me brochures and samples of 6 products. A fungicide, 2 nutrients and 3 pesticides, all organic. To say I was impressed would be putting it mildly. Here's a breakdown.
The 3 pesticides have overlapping but unique properties.
203 is a soil drench which can be used to rid you bonsai (or plants, veggies etc.) of pests which dwell in the soil. It is also an effective foliar spray for a wide range of plant pests.
217 is a ready to use spray for dealing with spider mites.
209 is a systemic pesticide effective on a wide range of plant pests. Being a systemic, it builds up inside the treated plant and plant pests will actually avoid feeding on it after a few applications. It is applied by adding it to the water when watering your bonsai of other plants at the rate of 2 ml per liter (1 part per 500 parts water or about 1/2 tablespoon per gallon of water.)
244 is an organic fungicide which controls many types of fungus, molds & mildew. It comes in a ready to use spray bottle.
604 A & B are plant nutrients which are applied by mixing 1 ounce per gallon of water as a soil drench or as a foliar spray.
604A is intended for foliage, 604B is intended for flowering bonsai or plants.
